Garneau is a City of Edmonton neighbourhood (No. 5200) on the south side of the North Saskatchewan River valley, bounded on the north by Saskatchewan Drive and sharing a boundary with the City's University of Alberta neighbourhood along 110 Street.
11041 86 Avenue sits between 110 and 111 Streets, inside the City's Garneau neighbourhood. The University of Alberta neighbourhood boundary follows 110 Street a block north. Whyte Avenue is four blocks south; Saskatchewan Drive, at the top of the river valley bank, is about four blocks north. The nearest bus stop, 109 Street and 86 Avenue, is served by Route 9, and University Station is about a ten-minute walk. The City's 2019 census found 46 percent of Garneau residents who gave an age were 20 to 29.
