More in Edmonton

Downtown

Downtown Edmonton is the city's central neighbourhood, running from 109 Street east to 97 Street and from 105 Avenue south to the North Saskatchewan River valley, and the City's 2025 business census identifies it as Edmonton's main hub for finance, corporate headquarters and specialized services.

Vantage Park is on 106 Street between Jasper Avenue and 102 Avenue, facing O-day'min Park across the street. The park opened in November 2025 and covers 1.81 hectares from 106 to 108 Street, with a lawn and toboggan hill, an off-leash dog run, a playground and a pavilion with washrooms. One block east, at 105 Street and 102 Avenue, the Valley Line's Alex Decoteau stop is under construction, and 102 Avenue is closed to vehicles between 107 and 102 Street for the 2026 construction season.

  • O-day'min Park opened in November 2025, covers 1.81 hectares between 106 and 108 Street from Jasper Avenue to 102 Avenue, and was funded by the Capital City Downtown Community Revitalization Levy.
  • The Alex Decoteau stop at 105 Street and 102 Avenue is still under construction. Valley Line West construction is anticipated to be complete in 2028, followed by testing before the line can open.
  • 102 Avenue is closed to vehicle traffic between 107 and 102 Street for the entire 2026 construction season, and the 102 Avenue bike lanes were relocated to 103 Avenue in November 2025.
  • NorQuest College's main campus is two blocks west at 10215 108 Street NW, serving more than 17,000 students a year.
  • MacEwan University's City Centre Campus, north of the site at 10700 104 Avenue NW, houses the majority of the university's degree programs.
