01 Overview

Sixteen storeys of concrete in Upper Windermere.

Tower in Ambleside, also known as Signature Tower, is a 16-storey, 125-suite concrete condominium we completed in 2018 at 5154 Windermere Boulevard SW in Edmonton's Upper Windermere community. The roughly 125,000-square-foot building holds the west edge of the Ambleside neighbourhood, overlooking the central pond and the Windermere ravine system. Not a bad thing to see from your balcony every morning.

We built it as the next step up from our adjacent Signature Condominiums: concrete construction, floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies aimed at the ravine and the downtown skyline, and a dedicated residential amenity floor.

The location put residents alongside the Currents of Windermere retail district, the services along Anthony Henday Drive, and the river valley trail network, with quick highway connections to downtown and the airport. The building sold out, and it still anchors the corner the way we hoped it would.

Ambleside

Windermere and Ambleside are two adjacent City of Edmonton neighbourhoods in the far southwest, both among the six neighbourhoods inside the Windermere Area Structure Plan and both still being built out.

Tower in Ambleside sits on Windermere Boulevard in the Ambleside neighbourhood, with Currents of Windermere just north of it on Currents Drive NW. Currents is a power centre of over 100 acres and 1,200,000 square feet with surface parking throughout, rather than a main street, and its anchor tenants include Walmart, Home Depot, Canadian Tire and Cabela's. Ambleside is not purely residential: the City lists an Eco Station, snow storage, a fire station and a generating station among its institutional uses.

  • Cabela's is at 6150 Currents Drive NW and The Keg at 6320 Currents Drive NW, both inside Currents of Windermere.
  • Edmonton Fire Rescue Services Fire Station No. 31 (Windermere) is at 3865 Allan Drive SW. It opened in 2023 as the City's first net-zero building, with a 382-panel solar array and 35 geothermal boreholes.
  • Eastern Ambleside is designated Business Employment. Existing development on Andrews Loop and Allan Drive SW includes a hotel, offices, a pharmacy, clinics, self-storage, a car wash and a recycling depot.
  • The City's Centennial Transit Garage is immediately east of that business employment area, across Rabbit Hill Road.
  • Terwillegar Drive Expansion Stage 3 began construction in May 2026 and is anticipated in service by 2028; the City advises drivers from Currents of Windermere and Ambleside to consider alternate routes, including Rabbit Hill Road.
